Hyundai’s newest teaser uses astronauts to take Ioniq 9 EV into interstellar territory.
Hyundai is still keeping key details about the upcoming Ioniq 9 EV a closely guarded secret. The 9 is shaping up to be one of the biggest EV launches Hyundai has ever done with the EV promising to catapult Hyundai into the large family vehicle market. The Ioniq 9 has gone through plenty of changes during its development but Hyundai is confident that the EV will reshape the way people think about Hyundai.
That’s evident in its latest teaser video with the Korean car giant using astronauts and themes of space and interstellar charm to drive home the point that this EV will rise above the rest as the company prepares to expand its reach in the EV segment.
Space and family key pillars for Ioniq 9
The Ioniq 9 promises to be a spacious EV for families but Hyundai’s latest teaser drives home the point with the company featuring astronauts in its newest teaser video. The video doesn’t show the vehicle’s exterior and other details remain adrift in space but we get a better look at the interior with the two-tone cabin featuring circular door handles and a large panoramic sunroof.
The teaser video also shows off the rough shape of the vehicle with the Ioniq 9 having a profile that strongly implies its length and the strong identity that it has with other SUVs in Hyundai’s lineup. This will be key since Hyundai is out to show that the Ioniq 9 can appeal to the needs of family buyers and one way of doing that is to give them what they want in a package that’s familiar and approachable.

Something for everyone
Look for the Ioniq 9 to follow the same core script that we have seen with other Hyundai EVs with the large EV coming with either single or dual-motor performance options to help the EV appeal to a wide range of consumers. Different battery sizes will also be offered too to allow the EV to appeal to a wide range of needs while also helping to cut the price down if buyers go for a smaller battery size.
The company’s Parametric Pixel Lights will also be a part of the Ioniq 9’s design and these lights have rapidly evolved to become a potent signature detail on other Hyundai models but expect them to be turned up a notch in the Ioniq 9 given the model’s role as the proverbial flagship in Hyundai’s EV lineup. We look forward to seeing what other clues Hyundai has up its sleeve as the company prepares to show the Ioniq 9 to the world.
Everything sounds good except that EV part.
