A Week With: 2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally

by | March 11, 2025

Last year, the Ford Mustang Mach-E outsold the regular old Mustang — by more than 7,000 units. The traditional, gasoline-fueled coupe is part sports car, part muscle car and 100% fun. And, after a week behind the wheel, I can see one reason why the Mach-E is as popular as the original.

Ford’s Mustang Mach-E outsold the gas-powered model in 2024, and a week in the Mach-E Rally might convert a few loyalists.

If you equip it right, you get many of the same thrills the original provides. Want to merge your Mustang worlds? Take the 2025 Mustang Mach-E Rally for a drive and you’ll see plenty of parallels — starting with performance.

The new Mach-E Rally boasts an all-electric powertrain putting out 480-horsepower and a zero-to-60 time of just 3.4 seconds.

New classic look

It’s basically the Mach-E GT with rally car-inspired updates, including 19-inch high-gloss Oxford white wheels and a unique rear spoiler that make it impossible to miss as you careen through s-curves at breakneck speed.

Our tester came in Eruption Green Metallic, which really sets off those Oxford white wheels and the graphics that allow for a touch of nostalgia for the forest green body and white wheels, but the overall look screams “the future is now.”

That feel carries over to the cabin with its performance gray interior trimmed in active X material with silver stitching. The white neck bolsters on the front seats matching the white wheels give the Mach-E Rallye a space-age look. By the way, those seats aren’t just your average spot to flop down and drive.

The Mach-E Rally is available in Eruption Green Metallic with 19-inch Oxford white wheels.

These are Ford Performance seats: 10-way power for the driver and 8-way for the front passenger. Of course, they’re heated. They will keep you planted in a great position while you’re pushing that Mach-E Rally around. But I’m not sure I’d want to endure them for a daylong drive. You’ll need to get out and move a bit after about an hour in them. However, I suspect most Mach-E Rally owners don’t sit in them for much longer than that.

Tech, tech, tech

From a technological standpoint, the interior is basically the same as the Mach-E GT, which is to say, clean, crisp and easy to use — especially with the massive 15.5-inch touchscreen in the middle.

The Rally is a pretty convenient ute to own with a 360-degree camera, an available 4G wireless hotspot, the ability to use your smartphone as a key — or anyone you want to use their smartphone as a key, plus the usual expected comforts like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as wireless charging.

However, the best bit of tech on this silent monster is the 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system, which ensures you can hear the soundtrack for your drive in crystal clear perfection.

Going for a ride

RallySport gets you 480 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque, which is 100 more pound-feet than the GT model. The result? 0-60 mph in about 3.4 seconds — and I believe it.

It offers all the safety tech you expect, plus four drive modes whisper, engage, unbridled and RallySport, which isn’t available on any other Mach-E model. RallySport gets you 480 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque, which is 100 more pound-feet than the GT model. The result? 0-60 mph in about 3.4 seconds — and I believe it.

It also features e-all-wheel drive. When you combine that with the Rallycross-tuned MagneRide Damping system, the Brembo brakes, and aerodynamic add-ons designed to keep you close to the road, you get a tight-handling machine that should keep up with the original under the most demanding environments.

It’s a fantastic machine if you feel the need for speed a lot. However, you do pay for it on the range of the Mach-E Rallye as it will travel just 265 miles on a full charge. The best version of the Mach-E travels 320 miles. That said, going from 10% charge to 80% on a DC fast charger takes about 36 minutes. Faster than some, slower than others.

What it all means

So what’s all this silent speed and fun cost? A little over $59,000. I think I’d rather buy the GT and save a few grand and get a little more range (15 miles), but it’s hard not to enjoy that kind of fun.
