2025 Infiniti QX80 aims to bring the fight to flagship SUV rivals while also previewing Infiniti’s new design direction.
The Infiniti QX80 has been an enduring presence in Infiniti’s lineup with the outgoing model being in production since 2010. However, it has aged badly when compared to rivals such as the Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator, and the Jeep Grand Wagoneer despite updates it received over the years.
Infiniti is out to change that with the 2025 QX80 which not only breathes new life into the model but also previews Infiniti’s new design language as well.
New styling makes lasting impression
A big change for the 2025 model year is the revamped exterior styling which takes alot of its inspiration from the QX80 Monograph concept. The front end gets a bigger grille and new LED headlights with the LED DRLs having accents that look like digital piano keys.
The side profile has more flowing lines and the rear of the SUV gets a new liftgate design and LED taillights that are sharper looking than before. The new suit of clothes also previews Infiniti’s new design language which will be used on future Infiniti models including the brand’s upcoming EV lineup.
Twin-turbocharged V6 dethrones V8
Infiniti also updated things under the hood of the 2025 QX80 with the ancient 5.6 liter V8 being replaced by a smaller 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 that makes 450 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. That’s 50 more than what the V8 brought to the table and Infiniti says the V6 also gets better fuel economy too. That’ll please buyers that are looking to save some money at the pump. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission

More luxury and technology define cabin experience
The interior of the 2025 Infiniti QX80 finally gets the reboot that it deserved with higher quality materials replacing the dated plastics that defined the outgoing model. The heated and cooled massaging front seats will be joined by second-row massaging seats with the QX80 being the first Infiniti model to offer this feature to customers. Autograph models also get pinstriped wood trim with integrated backlighting.
A pair of 14.3-inch screens are used for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system with a smaller 9.0-inch screen being used for the climate controls.
All QX80s will come with Kilpsch audio systems but the Sensory and the range-topping Autograph trim will be the only two trims to have a 24-speaker unit that has speakers in the headliner and the front headrests.
