Buick is shooting for the big leagues with 2024 Envision. Updated SUV promises to be more complete SUV package thanks to updated styling and new technology that sharpen its luxury credentials.
When we last saw the 2024 Buick Envision, Buick chose to reveal only one image of the SUV promising that it would bring enough improvements to make the wait worth it. It has been a long wait since, but Buick has finally formally unveiled the revamped Envision and it comes with enough updates inside and out to make it a contender in the luxury SUV segment.
Front end gets Wildcat makeover
The major update that Buick made to the Envision’s exterior styling for the new model year was the front fascia. Buick designers swapped out the outgoing model’s look for a new face that shares alot of its inspiration with the Wildcat EV concept. Like that concept, the Envision gets new daytime running lights and a larger grille opening that’s mounted lower than before. The actual headlights themselves are mounted in the front bumper and it follows the same script as the Envista and the Encore GX in that regard.
The 2024 model also gets bigger wheels with the base Preferred model getting 18-inch wheels while the ST and the Avenir get bigger 20-inch wheels standard. The rear styling is lightly tweaked, but it largely carries over from the outgoing model with Buick’s new badging setup being included in the updates as well.
Envision interior gets revamp
The biggest updates that Buick made to the Envision for 2024 are found when you slip inside the interior. The dashboard is home to a large 30-inch screen that houses the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system under one large pane of glass. The center stack and the lower portion of the dashboard have been reworked to accommodate the piece and Buick eliminated some of the analog controls for the climate system to clean things up. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all Envision models.
GM’s experiment with push-button style shifters is also coming to an end with the Envision replacing that outgoing setup with a column mounted style shifter. A benefit of this is that the removal of the buttons opened up extra storage space and allowed Buick to put in a large knob to control the system. Buick also says that it will offer more two-tone color schemes for the interior and if you go for the ST model you get a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
Carryover performance soldiers on, no Super Cruise for now
With all the updates Buick made to the exterior and the interior, it’s no surprise that the performance hardware is largely carried over from the outgoing model with all 2024 models being powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 228-hp and 258 lb-ft of torque with the nine-speed automatic also being carried over as well.
The major difference here is that all-wheel drive will be standard across the entire lineup with Buick pitching the less expensive front-wheel drive models as part of the Envision’s updates. GM’s Super Cruise system was also originally supposed to make its debut on the Envision, but shifting timelines in development forced the brand to abandon the idea and bring it out at a later date.

How Much?
The addition of standard all-wheel drive also caused pricing to go up for the new model year with a base Preferred model now starting at $37,295 with the mid-level ST starting at $39,795. The range topping Avenir model is the trim to choose if you want full-on luxury and it has a price tag to match with these models starting at $48,395.
Buick says that the 2024 Buick Envision will begin making its way to dealerships this summer.
