While it may be more affordable than its bigger sibling, the Ford Bronco Sport does sacrifice a bit of off-road moxie. But as it gets a welcome refresh for the 2025 model year, Bronco Sport gets some added off-road capabilities, including the introduction of the rugged new Sasquatch package. Headlight.News looks at all you’ll find on the 2025 update.
As it comes up on its fourth year on the market, Ford’s compact Bronco Sport is set to get some notable upgrades for the 2025 model-year – and they’re more than you might expect from the typical “mid-cycle refresh.”
There are the usual, modest exterior tweaks, of course, but the revisions are much more notable inside, the 2025 Ford Bronco Sport getting an entirely new and all-digital dashboard. The SUV also gets some capability upgrades, including a new One-Pedal Drive function. Surprisingly, both engine options actually lose power for the new model year.
The biggest news, at least for serious off-roaders, is the debut of the new Sasquatch package which will be available on. Among other things, Sasquatch models get a twin-clutch rear drive unit and a locking rear differential.
Sasquatch power
“There’s a Sasquatch for every Bronco Sport customer who needs that next level of capability and confidence,” said Matt Simpson, Ford Enthusiast Vehicles general manager.
Okay, not quite every Bronco Sport customer. To get the off-road upgrade package you’ll need to order either the Bronco Sport Badlands or the Outer Banks trim. But here’s what you’ll get:
- New front and rear springs increase ride height by 0.4 inches;
- The Badlands Sasquatch package now gets 8.3 inches of front travel, 8.7 inches in the rear, a 0.6-inch increase;
- Both Badlands and Badlands Sasquatch add a new Rally setting to their GOAT – or Go Over Any Type of Terrain – mode selector;
- Sasquatch models get new Bilstein rear shocks with position-sensitive damping, with piggyback reservoirs for the Badlands model. These reduce potential heat problems during serious off-roading;
- 29-inch 235/65/R17 Goodyear Territory All Terrain tires – which Ford claims are the largest in the class.
Now, add front brush guards as well as steel bash and skid plates.
Also new for 2025
From a design perspective, the exterior updates are focused on functionality. That makes sense, according to Simpson, as “Bronco Sport customers love the outdoors and go off-roading 3.5 times as often as the owners of competitive vehicles, and camping twice as often.”
Among the upgrades for 2025, noted Ford, Bronco Sport gets new modular, accessory-ready steel front and rear bumpers, and extra steel underbody protection.
Add to the list of exterior upgrades: new wheel designs and a revised, rectangular Bronco grille.
The SUV gets new interior grab handles – though they’re offered as an option, rather than standard equipment – which might seem odd to serious off-roaders. As with the bigger, truck-based Bronco, owners of the Sport model tend to make numerous aftermarket upgrades and the 2025 SUV also gets new auxiliary switches for things like exterior lighting.

Digitized
The most visually obvious upgrade to the Bronco Sport for 2025 is the now all-digital instrument cluster. The reprogrammable display changes appearance depending on which mode you’re running the SUV in.
All models now feature a 12.3-inch full-color gauge cluster, alongside a 13.2-inch touchscreen that runs Ford’s latest infotainment system, Sync 4.
Add wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Bronco Sport now four USB ports, two for each row. The SUV gets an assortment of electronic safety and driver assist systems, adding this year an optional 360-degree camera. In Badlands and Badlands Sasquatch trims it adds a split view letting you see what’s happening around your front wheels.
There’s a new “Bring Your Own Device” tray atop the IP which lets you carry such things as \ a cellphone and a GoPro camera.
Off-roading upgrades
While the digital display now replaces most of Bronco’s traditional controls, there are new auxiliary switches above the windscreen. And they’re already pre-wired, making it easier to hook up lights, winches or other accessories.
Along with the new bumper, 2025 Ford Bronco Sport customers will find it easier to personally configure their SUV for a wide range of uses.
“We know that Bronco Sport customers spend more on accessories than any other customer in the segment.” said lead designer Dan Kangas. “With that in mind, we designed the 2025 Bronco Sport to encourage creative customer interaction with modularity and upfit points that make adding new accessories easier than ever.”
Pricing and availability
Ford plans to begin delivering most of the 2025 Bronco Sport trims to U.S. dealers around November. Models with the Sasquatch package, however, won’t arrive until sometime during the first quarter of 2025.
As for pricing, expect that to be released closer to the on-sale date.
The current Ford Bronco Sport starts at $30,640 and goes up to $39,985, depending upon trim and options. Expect to see the top end increase with the addition of the Sasquatch package.
