With two key models set to go away late this year, Infiniti clearly can use new product and that’s where the next-generation QX60 comes in. The midsize, three-row SUV gets a new look for the 2026, new technology – including the hands-free ProPilot Assist system – and a first-ever Sport edition. Headlight.News checks out the 2026 Infiniti QX60.

Set to roll into showrooms for the 2026 model year, Infiniti’s QX60 gets a much-needed design update picking up on the look of the brand’s flagship QX80.

The Japanese luxury marque faces some big challenges in 2025, what with two key models – the QX50 and QX55 – set to go away and replacements believed to be more than a year away. So, the updated 2026 Infiniti QX60 will have a major roll to fill in the meantime as the brand waits for the rest of planned product line to show up.

“The luxurious yet practical QX60 is a core part of the Infiniti lineup, and this refreshed 2026 model is a continuation of our product renaissance that will propel INFINITI toward its future vision,” said Tiago Castro, vice president, INFINITI Americas.

What’s new

A first-time 2026 Infiniti QX60 Sport package.

First introduced in 2014 as the JX, what became the second-generation QX60 arrived in time for the 2022 model year. By industry standards, a midcycle update is, if anything overdue, so the automaker is giving the SUV more than just the typical refresh.

The 2026 QX60 picks up on the “Artistry in Motion” styling language first used for the flagship QX80 – which itself went through a complete makeover last year.  The overall goal was to make the SUV appear lower and wider with a new grille “inspired by the intersecting shapes of a serene bamboo forests,” the automaker explains. There’s a new, illuminated Infiniti logo up front, while the lower bumper has been reshaped to make it look like the bumper is floating. There are new LED running lights and other details picking up on the QX80 look, though there are no sheet metal changes.

For the new model year, Infiniti adds a first-time Sport grade. It’s an appearance package, with no powertrain or suspension upgrades but the QX60 Sport gets a unique front fascia and grille, 20-inch whiles, unique badging and interior mods including Dusk Blue upholstery and a black headliner.

New technology

The 2026 Infiniti QX60 interior features twin 12.3-inch displays.

As has become something of an industry norm, the biggest changes for the midcycle package come in the technology category. QX60 now gets the latest version of the automaker’s hands-free driving system. ProPilot Assist 2.1.

For 2026, QX60 gets a 3D Around View Monitor with the ability to highlight moving objects. The top-lin Autograph Technology Package allows a motorist to “spin” the image. And a new Invisible Hood View enables the driver to see potential obstacles, such as a curb, that might be directly underneath the SUV.

All versions of the QX60 now get twin 12.3-inch displays. The center touchscreen migrates to the Google built-in operating system, including constantly updated Google Maps, and the natural-language Google voice assistant.

Luxe and Sport models get the a new Klipsch audio system pushing 600 watts though a 12-channel amplifier into 16 speakers. The Autograph model upgrades to 20 speakers and 24 channels. That top-lin syste, also allows the driver to make a call or, for example hear navigation directions, while passengers continue listening to music.

Powertrain

2026 Infiniti QX60 - front

The 2026 Infiniti QX60 carries over its distinctive VC-Turbo powertrain.

For the 2026 model year, the Infiniti QX60 carries over the unique variable-compression internal combustion engine developed by parent Nissan.

Displacing 2.0-liters, the  VC-Turbo pushes out 268 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque, Infiniti claiming it’s been tuned to deliver peak grunt at low to mid RPM ranges to ensure fast launches and smooth passes.

The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic and can be manually shifted with steering wheel-mounted paddles. The engine can be configured in front or all-wheel-drive, the FWD package delivering 22 mpg city, 28 highway and 24 combined. The AWD package is EPA-rated at 22/27/24.

The VC-Turbo provides enough muscle to tow up to 6,000 pounds, said Infiniti, “when properly configured.”

A critical offering

The 2026 Infiniti QX60 will be just one of two models offered by the automaker come early next year as it waits to launch several new model lines.

Infiniti is facing some major challenges. Nissan’s luxury brand is getting ready to launch several new products, the refreshed 2026 QX60 just one of them. But, for the short-term, it will have to get by with a relatively meager line-up.

The QX50 and QX55 models go out of production late this year. As Headlight.News recently reported, a new compact – based on the same platform as the next-generation Nissan Rogue – won’t land until 2027.

The automaker also has made some strategic adjustments to its planned entry into the emerging EV market and we won’t see the first all-electric model for as much as two years.

In April, Infiniti said it would stop taking U.S. orders for its Mexican-made models due to the Trump tariffs. It also indicated plans to move some production to the underutilized Nissan factory in Smyrna, Tennessee to get around those new duties.

At a time when the U.S. market had its best year since the COVID pandemic first hit, Infiniti sales were down 10.2% in 2024, to 58,070. By comparison, rival Japanese luxury brand Lexus saw sales rise 7.9% during the same period, with deliveries totaling 345,669. Infiniti dropped another 5.3% year-over-year during the first quarter of 2025, delivering just 13,165 vehicles.
