by | July 15, 2025

Hyundai offered up a first look at the redesigned Palisade crossover a few months back and it drew plenty of attention considering all the tweaks and upgrades. But now the Korean carmaker has released the most important detail of all: pricing. And, depending upon which package you choose you’ll be spending as much as $3,060 more than for the outgoing model. Will customers accept the higher cost? More from Headlight.News.

The top-line 2026 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy now starts at 55,555.

When the new 2026 Hyundai Palisade took a bow at the New York Auto Show last April it drew plenty of admiring glances from showgoers – and praise from the automotive media. And for good reason, Headlight.News felt at the time.

Hyundai’s flagship hree-row SUV not only grows bigger in second-generation form but adds a new hybrid option that can log more than 600 miles between fill-ups. For those who don’t want to stick to the pavement, meanwhile, there’s the brand’s first new XRT Pro package.

“We wanted to offer a vehicle that truly meets the needs of today’s drivers,” Olabisi Boyle, SVP, product planning and mobility strategy, said in New York as she ran down the list of updates. But what Boyle didn’t reveal at the time was that buyers will see as much as a 6% price hike when the 2026 Palisade rolls into showrooms before the end of this year.

Inflation strikes

The 2026 Hyundai Palisade is larger in every dimension compared to the 1st-gen SUV.

True, we’ve seen virtually every vehicle go up in price the last year or two. That’s why the average transaction price for today’s new model is averaging just a hair below $50,000, according to tracking firm Cloud Theory. But the increase for the 2026 Palisade runs more than on a number of competing products.

That said, the jump varies substantially, depending upon the trim package. At a starting price for the 2026 Palisade of $46,295, the SEL trim climbs just $250. But the base Palisade SE jumps $1,735, to $40,430. And the top-trim Palisade Calligraphy is up $3,060, at a starting price of $55,555.

As for the all-new Palisade XRT Pro, the off-road-oriented package starts at $50,865.

If you want the new hybrid drivetrain, its available on four trims, starting with the SEL at $45,155, a $2,220 upcharge compared to the base engine. (All prices quoted here include $1,495 in delivery fees.) The hybrid is available on four trims. As for all-wheel-drive, the HTRAC system is another $2,000 upgrade.

Tariffs?

The upgraded interior now features twin 12.3-inch displays.

Hyundai isn’t breaking out the reasoning behind these increases – but it does appear to reflect the higher content level of the 2026 Palisade, as much as anything. It’s unclear if Hyundai has factored in the new Trump tariffs in any form – or if they might wind up going into a future price hike.

A recent report by AlixPartners forecast the typical SUV sold in the U.S. will face a $2,000 price hike due to the tariffs already in effect. And Pres. Donald Trump isn’t done. He’s announced a number of new tariffs soon to go into effect, including a 50% duty on imported copper.

That could add hundreds of dollars to the price of the typical vehicle sold in the U.S. since roughly half of all copper used in the country country is imported.

The standard powertrain for most 2026 packages features a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V-6 coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Making 287 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, The ICE powertrain will be offered in both two-wheel- and four-wheel-drive configurations.

Palisade also includes Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant with the optional WiFi hotspot. The big SUV now comes with two built-in dash cams and adds plenty of other useful tech features, such as a fast 15-watt wireless charger in the center console. You can even order a UV smartphone sanitizer that tucks away in the center console.
