Chevy’s Electrified Hypercar, Corvette ZR1X, Starts at $207,395

by | August 6, 2025

Feel the need for speed? Just make sure you have a fat wallet. Chevrolet revealed the new 2026 Corvette ZR1X, its 1,250-hp hybrid hypercar, will set you back $207,395 plus delivery fees. But that’s a fraction of what comparable European competitors command. Headlight.News has more on ZR1X pricing – and a unique new special launch edition of the hypercar.

At a starting $207,395, the 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X will cost you roughly three times as much as the base Stingray model, but for the money, the bowtie brand noted Wednesday, you’ll have a machine even faster than comparable European hypercars at a small fraction of the price tag,

That is, of course, just the starting price. Chevy also revealed a special Quail Silver Limited Edition package that will push the number to more than $241,000. But even the “entry” version of the ZR1X will deliver 1,250 horsepower to all four wheels, enough to launch the American-made hypercar from 0-60 in “under 2 seconds,” the automaker said with a rated top speed of 233 mph.

“Corvettes are the pride and joy of their owners – this has been true since we first began selling the nameplate more than 70 years ago. They honor its craftmanship and design as much as its engineering excellence,” Scott Bell, vice president of Global Chevrolet said in a statement announcing pricing and plans for the ZR1X.

What’s new

The ZR1X is the second hybrid version of the C8, or eighth-generation, Corvette.

We first learned about the long-rumored ZR1X in June, Corvette rolling out the most powerful and fastest Corvette ever. ZR1X is just the second electrified version of “America’s sports car,” building on what the bowtie brand learned from its original C8 -Ray package.

Here, the upgraded 2-seater makes 1,250 hp. It delivers 828 lb-ft of torque from its twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8, and another 145 lb-ft from the front axle electric motor. That will get you to 60 in less than 2 seconds and, as Chevy last week demonstrated, it can also lap the grueling Nurburgring Nordschliefe in 6:49.275, only the second American vehicle to break the 7-minute barrier.

This Wednesday, Chevy finally revealed the most important number: the price tag of $207,395 – including delivery fees. And it announced that it will set things in motion with the special Quail Silver Limited Edition package – appropriately named for the annual The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering in Carmel, California where, on August 15, the ZR1X will make its first public appearance.

A bargain?

As has long been Chevy’s practice, it keeps rolling out ever faster and more powerful versions of each Corvette generation, now including two hybrid variants of the C8 family, the first-ever mid-engine ‘Vette. For those on a relative budget, the “base” package starts at $69,995 before delivery fees. The gas-electric E-Ray jumps in at $108,595. A notch up, we get the $116,795 Z06, followed by the all-gas ZR1 at $174,995.

While the $207,395 price tag of the ZR1X is a big step up on the price ladder, it may seem a bit less of a leap when comparing it to vehicles with comparable performance numbers. In June, Ford revealed the new Mustang GTD will start at $327,960. Ford was clearly a bit embarrassed by Chevy’s record run at the Nurburgring which bested its new hypercar which managed its own 6:52.072 lap of the ‘Ring. (Ford promises to come back to Germany for a grudge match.)

Other comparisons make ZR1X seem like even more of a bargain. As Chevy pointed out in its news release, Ferrari’s 2026 F80 makes “just” 1,184 hp and 749 lb-ft of torque, with a 0-62 mph (0-100 kmh) launch of 2.15 seconds. It has a top speed of 217 mph and a price tag of $3.7 million. The McLaren W1, meanwhile, goes for $2.1 million. It punches out 1,258 hp and 988 lb-ft, hitting 60 in a snail-like 2.7 seconds, with a top speed of 217 mph.

The ZR1X Quail package was inspired by the limited-run paint offered on the original C1 Corvette between 1957 and 1959.

Helping to mark the formal debut of the ZR1X late next week, Chevrolet is bringing out the Quail Silver Limited Edition package. Its Blade Silver Matte paint was inspired, the automaker explained, by the Inca Silver color offered between 1957 and `1959on the original C1 Corvette.

“The Design team is always looking to innovate, and the Blade Silver Matte paint color marks a significant moment for Corvette as the first factory matte paint in 60 years,” said Phil Zak, executive design director of Global Chevrolet. “This new finish creates a distinctly high-end feel and offers a rare chance to own a truly unique expression of Corvette.”

The Quail package adds that special exterior paint, Sky Cool and Medium Ash Gray and Habanero interior accents, and a number of hardware tweaks found on the ZR1X 3LZ package. These include higher spring rates, modified chassis controls calibrations, the ZR1X Carbon Fiber Aero Package, as well as Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires.. The Quail, offered only in convertible form, goes for $241,395.
