2024 Shelby Super Snake brings more power, style, and technology to iconic nameplate as Shelby American prepares to enter its contribution to the Mustang’s iconic 60-year story.
While the Mustang’s ongoing 60th-anniversary celebrations might be taking up the bulk of the world’s attention, it can be easy to forget that a key slice of the Mustang’s success is how aftermarket companies have often added their own unique flair to the iconic muscle car.
One of the most well-known is Shelby American with the firm making souped-up versions of the Mustang since the 1960s. The Super Snake version often represented the pinnacle of Shelby performance and with a new iteration of the Mustang on the scene, it was only a matter of time before the company would follow suit with the 2024 Super Snake.
Super Snake slithers onto the scene with more performance
Befitting its role as the figurative peak of Mustang performance, the Super Snake will enter the fray with two engine options. Base Super Snake models will come with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter Coyote V8 that makes 430 horsepower. However, for buyers that want the full Super Snake experience, the company also has an optional version of the engine that has been equipped with a supercharged version of the 5.0-liter that makes 830-hp.
Both versions of the Super Snake get custom suspension tuning that improves turn-in behavior while a revised front fascia and engine tweaks help improve cooling to the engine with a free-flowing Borla exhaust improving the soundtrack. The Super Snake also mirrors the standard Mustang’s transmission options with buyers being able to choose from either a six-speed manual or an optional 10-speed automatic. Buyers that go for the six-speed manual will get a one-piece driveshaft and a short throw shifter.
Style gets pumped up too
In addition to the performance upgrades that the Super Snake gets, the exterior styling also gets a major update too. The car gets a lightweight aluminum hood with other exterior components being crafted out of carbon fiber. Slick 20-inch forged magnesium wheels are also part of the package and help cut nine pounds of excess weight from each corner. Fastback models round things out with a large rear wing but if you go for the convertible, that gets replaced with a ducktail spoiler.
The interior gets embroidered leather sport seats and floormats with Shelby badging being used throughout the cabin. Cobra-themed puddle lamps and Shelby-branded door sills enhance things further and if you go for the stick, a Shelby shifter ball replaces the stock one.

Get it while you can
Shelby chose to not reveal final pricing information for the Super Snake but did confirm that the company will only be building 250 Super Snakes before it ends production. For reference, the last iteration of the Super Snake had a price tag that went over $150,000 so look for this to carry over to the new model as well.
These models will also come with a 3-year/36,000 mile warranty from Shelby American and that warranty is also bundled into the existing factory warranty that they get from Ford.
