It’s already one of the most powerful products in Cadillac history – but the luxury brand plans to take performance to the track-ready level with the debut of the new Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Precision Package. Here’s a closer look.
Cadillac’s supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 is the most powerful street-legal powertrain the luxury brand has ever offered. But the General Motors division wants to take performance to the next level.
And with more and more private tracks popping up around the country, it just might have the right formula in the form of the new 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Precision Package.
“For 20 years, V-Series has represented Cadillac’s commitment to performance, technology and craftsmanship, serving as the purest expression of the brand’s core values,” said John Roth, vice president, Global Cadillac. “We wanted to put an exclamation mark on this era of Cadillac excellence and offer enthusiasts the utmost in driving exhilaration.”
What’s new?
The Precision Package takes the current Blackwing edition to a new level with a variety of track-ready suspension and braking upgrades – as well as some stand-out design enhancements. According to a statement from Caddy, some of the most significant include:
- Increased spring rates, larger front stabilizer bar and revised suspension bushings
- New front steering knuckles and rear suspension toe links which allow for more aggressive wheel alignment for track usage
- Recalibrated subsystems: MagneRide dampers, steering, chassis controls and Electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD)
- Carbon ceramic brake package
Performance
The CT5-V Blackwing retains the “base” V-Series model’s 6.2-liter supercharged V-8. It’s rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. That’s the most powerful engine Cadillac has ever put onto the street.
The engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 10-speed automatic. Power is directed to the rear wheels.
In its current configuration it delivers 13 mpg city, 21 highway and 15 combined.

Design tweaks
The current CT5-V adopts something of a stealth mode, playing down the muscle under the hood. The Precision Package sticks with that strategy but does get a few visual tweaks, inside and out.
That starts with a redesigned grille, front fascia and front fenders. Cadillac adds some functional revisions, including new ground effects. It adds three new colors: Drift Metallic, Deep Space Metallic and Typhoon Metallic.
Inside, it gets a new 33-inch LED color touchscreen. And, for those who really will take it out on the track, there’s an optional, built-in performance data recorder and in-vehicle performance apps.
Pricing and availability
Production of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Precision Package will begin “in early 2025,” the automaker said, at the brand’s dedicated assembly plant in Lansing, Michigan.
The automaker isn’t offering any sales projections, though it has said it can be flexible based on consumer demand for the current Black Wing series.
Pricing will be announced closer to the official launch of sales next year. The current CT5-V Blackwing starts at $96,990.
