With spring finally here, serious SUV fans are getting ready to hit the trails. And Jeep is offering up some ways to have a bit more fun and adventure with seven new concepts for the 59th Annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. Here’s a look at the mix, ranging from retro to futuristic.
Unlike the concept vehicles you’ll typically see at an auto show, these are real “runners,” largely based on existing Jeep products and using an array of parts and accessories already available in the Mopar parts catalog. Not surprisingly, one goal is to get loyal Jeep owners to customize their vehicles. But the Safari concepts also offer a hint of special editions to come.
This year’s concepts are based on several different Jeep platforms, including Wrangler and Gladiator. Some, like the Jeep Bug Out 4xe Concept, make use of the off-road brand’s plug-in hybrid system. Others, like the Wrangler-based Rewind Concept, are decidedly retro.
Here’s a look at each of the special Easter Safari Concepts.
Jeep Convoy Concept
We’d be surprised if one particularly model isn’t leading the pack out on Moab’s rugged trails. Jeep describes the Convoy Concept as a “Military-inspired, classic workhorse (version of) Jeep Gladiator with a design that stands the test of time visually and functionally.”
It starts out as a 2025 Jeep Gladiator Mojave honors the 1963 Jeep Gladiator SJ, the brand’s first post-War truck designed specifically for civilian use. – though it really picks up cues borrowed from the 1987 J-Series. That starts with the distinctive “J-truck nose,” and a reimagined “J-truck” hood and fascia – with a built-in 12,000-lb. Warn Zeon winch.
Other modifications include:
- Special-edition matte Ghost Ops exterior paint color;
- Customized SJ-inspired seven-slot grille (the first of its kind) with embedded amber LED forward lighting;
- Chocolate brown canvas half doors and top/bed canopy;
- High-clearance flares, 17-inch Warn wheels with aggressive 40-inch BFG Krawler tires.
Jeep Bug Out 4xe Concept
Think of this Safari concept as an “Extended carbon-fiber Jeep Wrangler that unites ultralight camping with overlanding for off-grid adventures.
The Bug Out 4xe Concept started out as a four-door Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon customized for the growing fans of overlanding adventures. It’s stripped down to essentials, added Jeep, “to reflect what a responsible, modern-day mobile campsite could be. Because with overlanding, the journey itself is the focus, rather than the destination.”
Key modifications include:
- Special-edition PEA51 matte silver exterior paint color with yellow accents and graphic;s
- A roof that’s been raised by four inches for improved rear area accessibility;
- Mopar front half doors and rear custom body side with integrated auxiliary battery packs
- 12-inch extended body with Jeep Gladiator-style drop tailgate and high-departure rear tube bumper;
- Interior attachment points for a sleeping hammock.
Jeep Rewind Concept
This is the most retro-inspired model of the batch, as the wild interior highlights. As Jeep explains, it’s a “Nostalgic take on a Jeep Wrangler that gives all the feels of an era when loud neon colors were all the rage.”
The Rewind Concept might get long-time Jeep fans thinking about classic Wrangler CJ7, YJ or TJ models from years past. But it actually starts out with a 2-door 2025 Wrangler Rubicon that has its doors and roof removed before being “Dipped in all things ‘80s/’90s kitsch.” It was an era, brand officials explained, when bright neon colors dominated.
Along with its wild color scheme, the various mods include:
- Gloss black custom anti-roll bar;
- A custom mesh sun bonnet added;
- Custom-painted 17-inch AEV wheels with gold wheel pockets and 37-inch BFG KM3 M/T tires;
And, appropriately, a custom rear compartment to hold essentials, like a boom box.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe Blueprint Concept
Thin of the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Concept as a “rolling catalog of nearly 40 factory-tested and factory-backed items,” the automaker explained.
You might also call the Blueprint a rolling catalog, with the various parts and accessories labeled with QR codes meant to encourage those on the Safari trial to order them for their own Jeeps directly from Mopar’s online store.
There are simply too many to list individually but they give the prototype a 2-inch left, add steel bumpers, front and rear, and provide a look at three different wheels, including a 17-by-9-inch off-road capable beadlock design and 370inch BFGoodrich K03 all-terrain tires..
Other notable mods:
- High-top fenders;
- Warn winch and winch guard with 7-inch TYRI lights;
- Rock rails;
- Tube doors shown with and without optional mesh covers; and a
- Tailgate table.
Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sunchaser Concept

The Jeep Wrangler Sunchaser Concept introduces some custom parts and accessories that could wind up in the Mopar catalog.
If your idea of off-roading keeps you on the go from dawn to dusk, the Sunchaser might be precisely what you’re looking for. It’s described as the “Ultimate outdoor adventurer (that) carries all the necessary gear for a full day of activities.”
Based on the plug-in hybrid Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, its two-tone exterior paint scheme blends a little “solar flash” with satin black. It also introduces some “conceptual exterior components that could wind up in the Jeep/Mopar parts catalog at some point.
Key modifications:
- A 2-inch lift kit ;
- Mopar ILLUMINAT3 off-road pivoting light bar accessory concept;
- Concept vented high-top steel fender flares ;
- Concept side storage boxes with integrated MOLLE panel;
- 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 mud terrain tires;
- Custom two-tone leather seats.
Jeep J6 Honcho Concept

The Honcho Concept “deletes” two doors, giving the modified Gladiator a substantially larger cargo bed.
Honcho, said Jeep, “Mixes the classic late-1970s Jeep Honcho theme with concept and production Jeep Performance Parts and accessories from Mopar.”
It’s based on the earlier Jeep J6 concept that started out as a 4-door Rubicon version of the Gladiator pickup. It’s been cut down to two doors, a move that allowed Jeep to give it larger, more functional 6-foot bed stretching 12 inches longer than the stock truck. The overall length of the J6, noted Jeep, is 201 inches, while the wheelbase clocks in at 118.4 inches. That’s a match for the current 4-door Wrangler.
Mods also include:
- A 2-inch lift kit;
- Bronze 17-inch wheels shod with 37-inch BFGoodrich KM3 mud terrain tires;
- Concept flat steel fender flares ;
- Custom triple hoop front bumper with four 5-inch TYRI lights;
- Custom roll bar with six TYRI lights (four forward and two rear-facing)
- Warn winch.
Jeep Gladiator High Top Honcho Concept
This “Heritage-inspired truck” was inspired by a “popularized (model from) the mid-1970s (which) gives the world’s most off-road-capable midsize truck a new personality.”
The goal was to give the truck a bit more performance, as well as a customized off-road personality.
The last of this year’s Easter Safari package features mods including:
- Unique heritage-inspired graphics
- Custom painted steel wheels riding on 40-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 white letter tires
- Dana 60 front and rear axles with matching 5.38:1 gearing
- AccuAir adjustable air suspension
- Warn winch
- Custom quilted and perforated tan-and-black leather seats with embossed JPP logo on headrests
