Honda teases EV SUV and confirms that it will be produced in 2026 alongside a wedge-shaped EV sedan.
Honda is on a roll when it comes to overall momentum with the Japanese auto giant not only collaborating with General Motors for production of the strong-selling Prologue but also putting the final touches on production of its next-generation in-house designed EVs. The company first teased these EVs in concept form at CES earlier this year but not much was known about what the production version of these vehicles would look like.
This is now changing with Honda releasing a lone teaser image of a mysterious EV SUV which was also accompanied by news that it will enter production alongside a wedge-shaped sedan model for 2026 confirming that the company is not pulling any punches when it comes to storming the EV market.
EV SUV will allow Honda to enter new frontier
The teaser image shows both of the models from the rear with a separate image confirming they will appear at CES 2025. Both of them are production versions of the Sallon and Space-Hub EV concepts with the Saloon being a glimpse into a future sedan model which features a distinct wedge shape to help maximize aerodynamics. The concept was pure show car but it appears the production version will follow the same core script but with a less radical design to comply with safety regulations.
The SUV is undoubtedly the more interesting of the two and this image is also the first time it has made its public debut. The rear styling has some elements of the Space-Hub but the taillights have been replaced with a new U-shaped LEd light strip and accompanying LED stoplights. The rear bumper also appears to protrude quite a bit but this might have been another concession to safety standards when compared to the futuristic concept that inspired it.

The production version of the Saloon concept is slated to go into production in Honda’s new EV Hub with the model potentially undercutting the Model S sedan in terms of pricing. The SUV is targeting the Model X (among others) and is also slated to enter production in 2026. It will be interesting to see if both of these models will be a good spearhead for the 0 Series with Honda already planning to expand the lineup further over the next several years.
Some of this expansion will be achieved with electric crossovers as well as other SUV models to help fill certain niches and segments to try and give Honda as big of a presence in the EV utility vehicle segment as possible.
