Jaguar F-Type’s Last Gulp of Gas

by | October 12, 2023

The end of an era arrives at Jaguar with the 2024 F-Type ZP Edition. The limited-edition model will be the last new Jag sports car powered by an internal combustion engine. The company plans to produce just 150 of them, so move fast.

Jaguar’s readying to shift from gas to electric with the final gas-powered F-Type, the ZP Edition, which comes as a convertible, above, and a coupe.

Jaguar announced today the new 2024 Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition will be the penultimate 150-unit run of gasoline-fueled Jaguar F-Types, the last roar from a new internal combustion Jaguar sports car. It’s the final iteration of the two-seater, which debuted in 2013.

After more than 75 years of producing internal combustion sports cars, Jaguar is moving closer to converting to the production of all-electric luxury vehicles.

Jaguar’s 2024 F-Type ZP Edition also comes as a coupe in its limited-edition run.

“As Jaguar embarks on the boldest transformation in its history, to become a modern luxury all-electric brand from 2025, this is an unrepeatable celebration of Jaguar’s internal combustion sports car provenance,” said Rawdon Glover, managing director, Jaguar, in statement.

The last F-Type limited Edition

The 2024 Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition was designed by Jaguar’s SV Bespoke division and was inspired by two well-known “Project ZP” racing E-type cars from the 1960s. It features the same clothing as the limited-edition E-type Project ZP Collection from Jaguar Classic, which restored seven E-Types to resemble the winning pair of E-Types.

The same livery and colors are used on these new limited-edition F-Types, which are painted in Oulton Blue or Crystal Grey.

Gloss black brake calipers, fender badging, 20-inch forged alloy wheels, and a plaque that reads “1 of 150 SV Bespoke” complete the exterior styling. Both a fixed-head coupe and a drophead coupe will be available.

These F-Types’ interiors were customized by SV Bespoke with horizontal seat fluting and contrasting interior hues.

The F-Type’s powerful 5.0-liter V-8 supercharged engine produces 575 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque, sending to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. So yes, this is a ferociously fast feline, with a 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Me-yow.

Others F-Type limited editions

But it’s not the only limited-edition F-Type for 2024.

To celebrate Jaguar’s 75th year, the automaker is also issuing the F-Type 75 and R 75 as either a fixed-head coupe and a drophead coupe. As you might expect, this means 75 badges are strewn about the car, including on the front fender, door sills, and center console as well as elsewhere in the cabin, which includes performance seats and an black suede headliner.

The F-Type R-75 has the supercharged V-8 used in the 2024 Jaguar F-Type ZP Edition, with identical specs, including all-wheel drive. The F-Type 75 rear-wheel or optional all-wheel drive, and produces 444 hp from the same power plant. Both cars benefit from mechanical tweaks, including a rear electronic active differential and adaptive dampers to make the F-Type’s superb handling even better. It’s all wrapped up in exclusive Giola Green paint and unique 20-inch wheels.

“F-Type has captivated sports car drivers for more than a decade, just as the E-type did five decades before it. The ZP Edition is the ultimate celebration of that lineage,” Glover said.
