MINI’s 2025 Aceman brings newfound levels of design and MINI heritage to the EV segment. Newest Mini offering will compete with electrified rivals like the Volvo EX30 in the small EV utility segment.
The MINI Aceman concept provided a glimpse into what would happen if MINI designers decided to take their venerable EV architecture and put it in a design that was sporty and distinctive. Mini teased the Aceman concept for several years but neither confirmed nor denied that it was entering production.
The 2025 Aceman not only continues where the quirky concept left off, but it aims to put Mini into a strong position in the EV market especially as the scene shifts towards smaller utilities and prices that aim to make EVs more affordable to a wider dragnet of consumers.
Aceman’s trump card is its design
In many card games, an ace card is often the key to a winning hand and in the case of the 2025 Aceman, MINI designers are hoping that the CUV’s design will help it strike a chord with customers. The Aceman slots between the Copper and the Countryman in the brand’s lineup and as a result, the styling contains DNA from both models. The front fascia is reminiscent of the standard Cooper’s while the side profile gets some of its shape from the Countryman with the rear styling attempting to bridge the styling gap between the two.
However, the Aceman gets some distinct features to help it stand out. They include an octagonal-shaped grille, a sloping rear roofline, and LED daytime running lights. Matrix-style taillights are also part of the package with both of them having the ability to cycle through three different graphics with the brand’s union jack motif being one of the three choices available.
Funky Aceman interior embraces modern fashion trends
The 2025 Mini Aceman will arrive in five trim levels: Essential, Classic, Favored, and JCW. The interior is where the differences between each trim level will be the most noticeable with the entry-level model getting a two-spoke steering wheel. The rest of the family gets a three-spoke steering wheel but all Aceman models get a 9.5-inch infotainment screen which is mounted in the center of its fabric-covered dashboard.
The system is equipped with MINI’s OS9 system which allows occupants to use voice commands for the bulk of the features. However, a small bank of controls under the screen cover essential functions like the gear shifter, parking brake, audio controls, the drive mode selector, and the stop/start button.
The Aceman has room for five occupants with the cabin offering 35.5 cubic feet of cargo space when the second-row seats are folded flat.

Aceman goes all-in on EV powertrain
Performance for the 2025 Aceman comes from two electric powertrains with the base E model getting a 184 hp electric motor that’s paired with a 42.5-kWh battery pack. Mini says this setup allows the Aceman to make the sprint to 60 mph in 7.9 seconds while total electric range comes in at 193 miles of range when measured on the European WTLP cycle.
The SE gets more power with these models producing 218 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque. The extra power might not do much to improve its 0 to 62 mph time but the bigger 54.2 kWh battery pack causes range to get bumped up to 252 miles. This enhanced range also comes with the ability to accept 95-kW of fast charging with the brand saying that the battery can go from 10 to 80% in 30 minutes.
U.S. availability uncertain
MINI didn’t reveal official pricing for the 2025 Aceman and also didn’t confirm whether the model would be offered in the U.S. market. Look for Aceman production to formally begin later this year with final availability information being released shortly after.
If the Aceman does arrive in the U.S. the model will face a growing pool of competition in the EV segment and its strong emphasis on styling might not be enough to move the needle in terms of sales, That said, the Aceman would provide Mini showrooms with a small halo offering that could be used to draw customers into showrooms and might help boost sales of other Mini models as a result.
