Alfa Romeo prepares to jumpstart its push into the future as the brand releases new teaser video highlighting an updated design language.
2024 has been a rough year for Stellantis but Italian luxury car brand Alfa Romeo is arguably one of the brands in the portfolio that has been through its fair share of ups and downs. The main lineup is aging and sales have been moribund especially in the U.S. However, the brand is also preparing to launch the Junior and recently began deliveries of the 33 Stradale supercar.
Alfa Romeo intends to build on this momentum in 2025 and has confirmed that it will be embracing a new design identity and transform itself in a last-ditch effort to try and reassert itself in the luxury car market.
Stelvio likely to appear first
The news came via a post on Alfa Romeo’s Linkedin page that showed off a large triangular taillight assembly. The image and accompanying video don’t show too much beyond the light’s outline but it’s safe to assume that this is a glimpse of the next-generation Stelvio. The Giulia and the Stelvio are rapidly aging, but the Stelvio is in a segment of the market that still sees strong demand, though this might be hard to believe for Alfa Romeo dealerships who are struggling to sell the model and its smaller teammate the Tonale.
The Giulia is also likely to get the new taillight design too, but that model is expected to be built on the 2025 Charger’s platform which would allow the nameplate to embrace electrification and allow the brand to make up ground it has lost to some rivals in the quest for electrification.

Alfa Romeo wants to build more supercars
In addition to some of the more pressing needs that are defining the brand’s future, Alfa Romeo is also interested in expanding its presence into the world of supercars. After it completes production of the 33 Stradale, the brand plans to build a second low-volume supercar for the 2026 model year. This supercar is also expected to borrow more traits from 1960s-era Alfa models.
This theme would allow the new supercar to become a spearhead halo model for the brand with the triangular lighting element serving as a visual bridge between the supercar and more mainstream models like the Giulia and the Stelvio. It will be interesting to see what else Alfa has up its sleeve for 2026, but this teaser could suggest that a figurative light is at the end of the tunnel after years of internal strife and failure to capitalize on changing market trends.
