Chevrolet Corvette Lineup Gets Driver-Focused Updates

by | May 9, 2025

Chevrolet keeps making updates to its halo sports car, the Corvette, ensuring it retains its spot among the best performance machines on U.S. roads. For 2026, the company “reimagined” the interior with a focus on improving the driving experience.

The Corvette team redesigned the cabin for the 2026 lineup to make it a more driver-centric setup.

The last big change on the Corvette came with a shift to the midengined platform for the C8. The new updates make sure the driver and passenger are more comfortable while making certain the driver can squeeze out every drop of performance.

“Corvette is the ultimate American sports car, which is why it has remained the luxury sport segment leader for more than 20 years — with the next competitor a distant second in terms of market share,” said Scott Bell, vice president, Chevrolet. “With these updates, the mid-engine Corvette will continue to cement its leadership for years to come.”

What’s changed

The driver gets three screens to handle various types of information or functions.

The cabin of the 2026 model aims to be a more pleasant, but driver-centric setting. That begins with a new three-screen layout and redesigned center console.

The three screens include a larger 12.7-inch diagonal center console display, an expanded 14-inch diagonal driver information center, and an all-new 6.6-inch diagonal touchscreen auxiliary display to the left of the steering wheel.

The redesigned center console now places all of the important functions within easy reach of the driver, starting with the drive mode selector that is now in line with the gear selector, officials noted. For convenience, a new wireless smartphone charging pad is snuggled under the infotainment system with a cover to keep it from moving around.

Fortunately, the team did keep some “old school” elements in place for future Corvette owners: a knob controls the volume of the infotainment system. The base of the knob is lit to make it easier to find at night.

“The design team considered every element — from materials, to stitching, to layout of the interior — for the 2026 Corvette,” said Phil Zak, executive design director, Global Chevrolet. “Paired with the new screens and technology, the refreshed interior enables a refined experience for the driver and the passenger.”

Even the passenger gets a good look at what’s going on with the new three-screen setup.

The new ’Vette is a very comfortable space with climate controls being repositioned under the center display so that the driver and passenger can get to them without much effort. On the passenger side, there is a new USB-C port just below the integrated grab handle.

If you’re going to be cruising, you might get thirsty. And while it doesn’t have the 14 cupholders you will find in a Chevrolet Suburban, it does have two redesigned cupholder that include hand-wrapped inserts with ambient lighting. In 2LT/2LZ and 3LT/3LZ trims, the cupholders are highlighted with real aluminum.

Corvette’s new interior focuses on ultimate craftsmanship, and provides customers with an elevated, modern appearance, offering bespoke customization options — including a Corvette-first asymmetrical interior colorway, available in Jet Black and Adrenaline Red, the company noted.
