These Were the Hottest Debuts During Monterey Motor Week

by | August 17, 2026

Remember when auto shows were the place to go for all the new vehicle previews? These days, you may be better off lining up a visit to Monterey Motor Week, the series of events surrounding the iconic Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. More than a dozen hot new products made their debut there this past weekend. Here’s a look at some of the most significant intros.

Acura Nexera Vision Concept - hero shot

Acura Nexera Vision

It’s been 40 years since Japan’s first luxury automotive brand made what, at the time, was an auspicious debut. Yet, all these decades later, odds are few folks – especially those buyers in the high-end market – can tell you what Acura is all about. Indeed, among major luxury marques, it ranks near the bottom in terms of brand recognition.

The Acura Nexera Vision is designed to change that. With its striking butterfly doors and active aero design details, this concept is easily the most striking styling exercise we’ve seen from Honda’s luxury arm in years.

Will they build it? For now, at least, Acura officials are ruling that out. “We are using the 40th anniversary of Acura as a springboard to our future, with the Acura Nexera Vision serving as the design language for future Acura models,” said Yasutake Tsuchida, Acura Creative Director and Vice President of Auto Design. “Our goal with this new design direction is to define Acura performance through disciplined proportions, sculpted form and the seamless integration of advanced technology, creating an expression that is both progressive and authentic to the brand.”

Aston Martin Valen - hero shot

Aston’s fastest-ever model, the V-12 Valen.

Aston Martin Valen

Latin for “brave,” the Aston Martin Valen is, according to the British marque, the most powerful front-mounted, V-12-powered vehicle in the world, at 838 horsepower.

If you recognize some of the bits lifted from Aston’s other powerhouse models, the Vanquish and Valhalla, no surprise. But it adds a bit of lightness – by using titanium, aluminum and carbon fiber — to enhance serious high-speed handling. Developed by Aston’s SVO, or Special Vehicle Operations, unit, it updates Vanquish’s 5.2-liter twin-turbo engine enough to hit 60 in 3.0 seconds. Several top speed numbers have been quoted, ranging from 214 to 217 mph.

Expect this agile beast to come in around $2 million in the U.S. market.

Audi Nuvolari Concept - hero shot

The Audi Nuvolari Concept is more than just a replacement for the old R8.

Audi Nuvolari

This is a fitting tribute to Tatzio Nuvolari, the legendary sports car and motorcycle race who captured two dozen Grand Prix titles during his long career.

Some have described it as the successor to the Audi R8 but it will have a far more limited run, the luxury arm of the Volkswagen Group planning to build just 499 of what it says will be its fastest and most powerful production car ever – a move that could put the brand into much more direct competition with the likes of Ferrari and sibling VW Group brand Lamborghini.

Indeed, Nuvolari shares key underpinnings with the Temerario that Lambo brought to market in 2024. That includes a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo, flat-plane crank V-8 set to deliver 987 hp – 80 more than the Temerario. Significantly, it will bring on power all but instantly thanks to the assistance of three new, super-energey-dense axial flow electric motors from Britain’s Yasa. Look for 0-60 times of 2.6 seconds. And an asking price of nearly $500,000.

Cadillac V-One Concept

A production version of the V-One will be aimed at privateer racing teams.

Cadillac V-One Concept

Cadillac’s made a bold return to motor sports and it’s getting ready to give private owners a way to join in the excitement with what is basically a scaled down version of the hypercar it’s running in the IMSA and FIA World Endurance Challenge Vseries.

For the moment, Caddy officials are cautioning that this is just a “concept” of a future race car well-heeled customers should eventually be able to purchase – and they emphasize what ever follows will not be street-legal. In concept form, the V-One “shares its foundations” with the V-Series.R racer, including its 5.5-liter hybrid V-8 which here makes 830 horsepower.

Still, this is an impressive way for General Motors’ luxury marque to further push up-market, as it’s been struggling to do with the all-electric Celestiq, as well as its new bespoke program, “Curated by Cadillac.”

Hennessey Blackbird

Named after the legendary SR-71, the Hennessey Blackbird should hit 220 mph.

Hennessey Blackbird

Texas-based Hennessey Special Vehicles has been in a long-running hunt to dominate the charts when it comes to speed records.

Its latest effort is the Hennessey Blackbird which debuted at the Quail over the weekend. As speed buffs might have guessed, it’s lifted its name from the legendary SR-71 Blackbird which, to this day, remains the fastest jet-powered aircraft ever produced – rumored to have exceeded Mach 3.3, or 2,200 mph. No, we won’t see that from this 3,000-pound hypercar, but it’s promised to hit 220 mph flat out, drawing power from a mid-mounted V-8 reportedly making more than 800 hp.

That engine was developed by Ilmor Engineering, a British engineering firm that produces powertrains for IndyCar, NASCAR and other series. We’ll have to wait for details but it reportedly comes in at a displacement of 6.2 liters and can spin up to an astounding 9,000 RPMs.

Lamborghini Revuelto SV

The Lamborghini Revuelto SV will be the brand’s fastest model ever.

Lamborghini Revuelto SV

The SV tells you what you need to know: it’s short for “Super Veloce,” or “super fast,” and it certainly appears to live up to that name. At an estimated price of around $741,000, it will be produced in extremely limited numbers – perhaps no surprise – of 1,963 copies.

What you get for the money is a beast powered by a 1,050-hp naturally aspirated V-12 which Lambo claims will be the fastest and most powerful vehicle ever to emerge from its Modena, Italy operations. Sadly, for those who love Lambo’s long devotion to manual gearboxes there won’t be that option here.

But this is no drag strip queen. It promised uncompromising handling, declared Lambo CEO Stefan Winkelmann, who told reporters at the Quail gathering, “The legacy of the brand is the lineage with the V12.”

Spyker Preliator 25

Spyker is back from the dead with the Preliator 25.

Spyker Preliator XXV

This Dutch brand has more lives than a cat, it seems. Dripping in rose gold and priced accordingly, this sleek supercar coupe marks Spyker’s return after going bankrupt a decade ago. It’s still owned by Netherlands attorney Victor Muller who bought rights to a century-old nameplate in 1999. It’s had a shaky history ever since – though Muller has repeatedly found a way to keep it going.

This time, he’s rolling out the Spyker Preliator XXV, a $1.6-million supercar which made its debut over the weekend at The Quail: a Motorsports Gathering.  Muller is anything but modest, the company’s Latin motto, “Nulla Tenaci Invia Est Via” translating into: “for the tenacious, no road is impassable.” The nameplate itself is Latin for “warrior.”

It’s powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 provided by Audi and, surprisingly, becomes part of an increasingly rare breed of exotics using a manual transmission. The automaker promises its 800 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque will deliver a top speed of 217 mph..
