Who says EV sales are slowing down? Certainly not Hyundai where demand is up by double-digits this year. It helps to keep expanding the line-up with new models like the upcoming EV9. But the Korean carmaker also is expanding the array of variants spun off of existing models. And, for 2025, that will include its first off-road-ready EV, the Ioniq 5 XRT.
The Jeep Wagoneer S Trailhawk Concept is a more rugged version of the all-electric Wagoneer S the automaker revealed in New York on Thursday. Capable of rock-crawling and deep-water fording, it’s designed to take on the same sort of challenges as gas-powered Trailhawk models do today. A production version is likely, Jeep officials said. But it’s by no means the only automaker exploring a potentially big market for off-road-ready EVs.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E gets some welcome updates this year, including a big boost in performance.
